Meta is now known as the parent company of Facebook. Meta which means “beyond” (means always more to build) and is derived from the Greek word. Facebook owner Mark Zuckerberg does not want Facebook to be known as a Social Media company. Mark Zuckerberg wants to shift or move Facebook toward futuristic technology and products and further wishes to be known as a technology company instead of social media company. Between the controversies, the social media giant Facebook changed its name to Meta. Zuckerberg in his letter discloses the term Meta meaning and why he chose meta as a new name for Facebook and he said that Facebook is seen as a social media company, but Facebook is not a social media company. In its DNA Facebook is a company that builds technology and connects people.
After a long period of time, a giant social media company changed its name in the world of social media company Facebook plays a vital role many peoples are connected with each other through Facebook. Is this is an initiative taken by Mark Zuckerberg to introduce its user to a new function or more?
As we know that Facebook is a social media app that is used by millions of people or by companies for promoting their business online mode. Facebook provides services to the business to expand their business on social media platforms by advertisement or by brand awareness etc. Maybe the reason behind the name change is to bring apps and technology under a new company brand. Only the name of Facebook’s parent is changed. It doesn’t mean that the other social media apps which are owned by Facebook are going to be changed like WhatsApp, Instagram they remain unaffected by the rebranding.
Mark Zuckerberg from his letter discloses that the metaverse quality will be a feeling of presence. Now the user will be get together with their friends and family and can do almost anything. And also said that metaverse will not be created by one company and focused on the privacy and security of the new Platform and now the services to be attainable to as many people because the meta-services will cost less. It likes mobile apps that provide services without costing any money.
Zuckerberg said that name change would not affect Facebook and its other apps function like Instagram and WhatsApp. Apps and their brands aren’t changing you can still use Facebook, WhatsApp, and Instagram in the way you used them before. Facebook is still the company that designs technology.
Now the company will first be known as metaverse and not Facebook first and would not be known as a social media company. Facebook is now only a social media app and part of meta.
